Press Release: Heiert/Wheeler Golf Tournament
Jul 25, 2009MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Mike and Suzie Wheeler recently hosted their 8th annual John Heiert/Jean Wheeler Memorial Golf Tournament, raising an impressive $10,100 to benefit Mercy Hospice and Palliative Care’s children’s grief and loss program.
The golf tournament, held at Myrtlewood Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, has raised more than $97,000 since its inception eight years ago. Proceeds from this event go directly to Mercy’s children’s grief and loss program. Many children in our community are affected by the loss of friend, family member, loved one, or experience a loss of another kind, such as foster home placement. Mercy not only offers individual and group counseling for these children, but also a camp twice a year geared to help them learn to laugh again.
