Camp Happy Hearts 2008

Apr 26, 2008 Camp Happy Hearts Spring 2008

A clown, a pony, two inflatable rides, tables full of craft supplies and memory boxes, a dozen cakes, and 36 pizzas … the verdict is in: Mercy’s Camp Happy Hearts on April 26th was a huge success! If only for an afternoon, tears were replaced with huge smiles and laughter by the end of the day. Our thanks to Christ the Servant Lutheran Church for allowing us to use their facilities!

We received a touching and beautiful testimonial just one day later:

“Thank you so much for allowing me to share in a very special day at Camp Happy Hearts. I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful I felt as I drove home from camp. I, too, am mourning the death of a loved one. My 11 year old grandson Ryan passed from Leukemia two years ago and the loss is still great. To see these kids just being able to be Kids for a day made it all worth while. I was able to help and get to know a young boy named Ryan (do you believe that) and so many others. I particularly enjoyed watching a young lady named Taylor, who when she registered was not to keen on being at camp. But she got in with a group of girls and within a short time she was having a ball. When I saw her later and asked her if she was glad she had stayed, she told me she was. I gave her a hug and said we were glad she had stayed also. Little things like that made my day! I hope you will call me again the next time you have a session of Camp Happy Hearts. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.” ~ Marcia
