Family Fun Day 2007

Sep 16, 2007

A Roaring Success: Family Fun Day!

One clown, four puppets, 36 cakes, 500 hotdogs, 10,000 bounces and a gaggle of laughing children later, the verdict is in: Mercy’s Family Fun Day on September 16th at Celebration Presbyterian Church was a roaring success.

Due largely to the incredible energy and dedication of scores of church members and of volunteers from Myrtle Beach Elks Lodge #2797, over 300 adults and kids alike partied, played, and remembered in the balmy light of a crystal clear September day.

Were broken hearts mended? Who can say? But, there is a story of a teenage girl—muted by grief from the death of her father six months before—who could acknowledge his death for the first time by painting a quilt in his honor and of the family of three generations coming together to honor and mourn a beloved wife, mother, and grandma.

Our thanks to Celebration Presbyterian Church in Carolina Forest for allowing us to use their facilities!
